Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF, has confirmed Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie’s interest in playing for Nigeria at the next Olympics.

Dinwiddie, who confirmed his intention to acquire a Nigerian passport to be eligible to play for D’Tigers at the 2020 Olympics Games billed for next year, will now join the Nigerian roster under Mike Brown that also includes Al-Farouq Aminu, Josh Okogie, Chimezie Metu, and Ekpe Udoh.

The federation on its Twitter handle on Tuesday confirmed that the Nigerian-American could feature for the country at the next Olympics.

“There are many top players out there who are eligible to play for us while some may also be thinking of naturalization,” the NBBF wrote.

The 27-year-old has been averaging 20.6 points, 6.8 assists, and 2.4 rebounds this season.

Dinwiddie started 49 of 64 games for Brooklyn this season.
